The lesson
Byron is one of the easiest places in the country to learn. The beach break at the western end of Main is forgiving, the water is warm most of the year and the whitewater runs a long way, which is the part that makes a first lesson feel like a success.
We book with Soul Surf School, who have run lessons here for years and put beginners exactly where they should be. Tell us who is surfing and we will fit the lesson to the tide, have the boards there and make sure nobody is standing on the sand waiting.
