Tallow

Seven kilometres of it, and you can usually find a stretch to yourself. Not patrolled the whole way, so ask us where to swim.

The beach

Seven kilometres,
and nobody on it

Tallow starts at Cosy Corner under the cape and runs south past Suffolk Park almost to Broken Head. It is the wild side of Byron. No cafes, no crowd, just national park behind the dunes and a lot of open sand.

It is also the one to be careful on. The bank drops away quickly and there are holes and rips along most of it. Suffolk Park is patrolled in season and that is where we send anybody swimming with children. The rest of it is for walking.
